Congratulations to Professor Laura Swoboda, DNP, and their team for receiving the Gold Award from the Journal of Wound Care for their research on Kylon® debridement!

Prof. Swoboda was recently appointed to a position on the Board of Directors for The Save a Leg, Save a Life Foundation. Prof. Swoboda is a translational scientist, family nurse practitioner, and regenerative medicine specialist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As an assistant professor of nursing at Carthage, they will serve as principal investigator for quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research projects in complex skin and wound care.

Prof. Swoboda serves on the board of directors for the WOCNCB and the AAWC, as well as various committees for the NPIAP, Wound Healing Society, WCCC, Alliance of Wound Care Stakeholders, SALSAL, and the American Heart Association’s Peripheral Arterial Disease Collaborative. Prof. Swoboda is committed to health equity, and volunteers at the local, regional, national, and international levels to increase access to quality healthcare.

Prof. Swoboda demonstrates the Carthage nursing excellence as they educate, advocate, and communicate to decrease non-traumatic amputations.
